Bittersweet is seeking a Part-time Direct Support Professional to work First shift in our Lima day program.

This position is a part time position working three days a week from 7:30AM-4:15PM.

Direct Support Professionals help enrich lives and make a difference while also providing you with valuable work experience. Direct Support Professionals teach, mentor and positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities through skills development. A rewarding career path for those interested in nursing, health care, social work/ social services, education, direct care, home health and those with a desire to help others.

Responsibilities of Direct Support Professionals:

• Provide person-centered supports which requires flexibility, creativity and commitment
• Work in partnership with participants
• Promote communication, choice, independence, socialization, and empowerment for the participants

Skills of Direct Support Professionals:

• Possess and uses empathy in all actions and interactions
• Effectively work in teams with co-workers and participants
• Ability to express patience in difficult situations
• Ability to drive daily routes in our company vehicles and provide transportation for our participants

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid Auto Insurance
• Clean Driving Record for the last three years.
• Ability to pass physical/drug screen prior to start date.
• Must be able to work from 7:30AM -4:15PM.
