Help us redefine what is possible and make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with Autism! Bittersweet, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential, vocational, and recreational services to individuals with autism.
Bittersweet is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) to work full time at our Whitehouse location as well as various community-based locations. The COC will coordinate & implement community-based social recreational programs offered in the Northwest Ohio area to adolescents and adults with autism. The COC will also coordinate and oversee Bittersweet’s 6-week summer camp for adolescents with autism. The Bittersweet Volunteer Program opportunities and needs will also be coordinated by the COC. The COC will present informational presentations & attend tabling events throughout the community. The COC will supervise a small pool of staff.
Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Ensuring participant health and safety, rights, & dignity
- Individual participant growth and development (Physical, educational, social, emotional)
- Community building, integration, & Adherence to governing rules and regulations
- Community Enrichment staff growth and development
- Contributory involvement in team process (including communication and collaboration with the individuals and their guardian/family members)
- Maintaining integrity of BSF philosophy, service quality, and public relations
- Fiscal efficiency
- Organization of required resources (material & personnel)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Willingness & capability to get Medication Delegation certified
- Three years' experience as a Direct Support Professional
- Two years of related experience (leadership, social recreation, scheduling)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings & weekends)
- Ability to work independently
